Hello fellow Escape lovers! This will be my 3rd Escape! 2005, 2012, and soon...2017! :yahoo:
I've been on here before, right before, and after the first two buys. We actually still own the first two. Our son drives the 2005.
What I'm hoping to gain is some advice on "when" to buy. Since they just came out, Ford isn't offering any great incentives. If I wait, will there be a price increase, as my salesman eluded to? Seems I got a post card type of "coupon" a month or so ago before I was in the market. Anyone know of any discounts?? :?
I wish that Ford would have kept the "step-up" on the back bumper. Not only do I like the look, and function, but I just feel it's a little buffer between my car, and the car that may bump into me.
well this is misleading so don't try it. I tried to guilt the sales guy, and he even took the flyer to the manager, but we werre using the xplan to buy, so they were already not happy, probably.

Yes, I saw offers like that too. Very misleading! We are also using the X-Plan, but I'm waiting for better incentives first. Did you notice that the $250 "incentive" ends on July 4th? I'm hoping that they come out with better incentives after that!

So I angry tweeted ford and my dealer about the postcard. The dealer social media contact called me and offered to submit a request to ford. They are sending me $1,000.00 check and i guess i get to keep the $250. The card was actually a loyalty offer for my nephew who bought a focus when he lived with us, so it came to our address, but technically we gave him our old 97 escort and took him to this dealer to buy the focus, so we were loyal i guess. My dealer came through for me. They previously got the engine and the transmission replaced in the last month/week of my extended warranty of our 06 escape, which broke a timing belt. I am pretty much sold on this dealer. Hope ford keeps making cars I want to buy.

Well, it took some convincing and special request by the dealer (Thanks to Jim Tidwell Ford of Kennesaw for responding to my tweet) after I complained on twitter for being refused the first time at the time of sale. The card was actually in my nephews name to our address from when he lived with us and bought a car from them. I actually am only getting the $1,000 back in cash (check from Ford). I guess i also keep the $250 rebate from the original sale. In total, not counting the xplan price, I got $1,250 off. I did not get the other $1,000 off for a 16 model, which it wasn't, and did not get 0%, which I think was also for 16 models only.
I think if you can get the coupon to come up in your name when they look it up then probably you can get it, or just argue about the picture of a 2017 right next to "$1,000 off new" and the listing of 15/16/17 year models on the small print. If all else fails, have the dealer submit a manual request like mine did, after purchase.
Whew whoo!!! Ordered our car today!!! :yahoo:
We'll get the $1000 rebate plus $1000 loyalty incentive, and our XPlan! (No obligation to buy, but we will!)
6-8 weeks leaves us enough time to sell our 2005 Escape. It's been an awesome car (my very first NEW car), but it's time to say goodbye. :thumb:

The rear seat outlet is just an AC plug, low to the floor. If you have rear seat passengers then anything plugged in this would be at risk of being kicked and broken. We found this plug and it plugs in and lays as flat as possible pointing the usb plugs for phone charging down out of the way of feet. The outlet cover marginally sticks out with this plugged in and it provides 4 slots for charging. I'll take pictures of it if I get a chance.
Congrats! That is a really good deal considering how much of a value the Titaniums are for what you get. Features like the bi-xenon are unheard of in this class.
Nice. I am not sure why if they bothered to put an AC outlet there, they could have at least wired some usb charging only ports above there too. (Sounds like a DIY project.) I already bought a slim dc charging port (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00M6 ... UTF8&psc=1) for the inside the middle console to better accommodate all the crap that gets put in a small space.
UPDATE: Pic of the plug we were talking about in action.
An update...
I jumped the gun. We are NOT going to take possession of the 2017 Escape that our dealer ordered for me (it's due in next weekend!) Thankfully, it was under a NO obligation to buy contract. It just doesn't make sense for us at this time... Kind of sad, but it was my decision.
Happy Trails!
I'll be back! :thumb:
I'm back!
Ordered another today! Definitely going through with the sale this time! Titanium, White Platinum, Black leather, 2.0 engine, 301a package, navigation, and adaptive cruise control! Can't wait!!!
When I phoned my insurance company (Amica) she asked if any forward collision alert system, that 301 package of yours might pay for itself in more ways than one

Very cool about the insurance, although, I've never been asked that question by AAA, but maybe it's something new. Will let you know!
