Ford Pass App ?

Postby montermahan - October 24th, 2016, 12:19 pm

Another silly question. What if you have ur ford in being serviced (oil change etc.) and, someone playing around hits the start button on the phone? is the person doing the service to disconnect the battery to service or could car be started with no oil in it or a finger be removed in the fan belt?

Interesting question, but it is really not a new thing. I always have 2 sets of keys with me, so i could use the remote starter on my keys as well.

Looking forward to hearing from a technician/mechanic

wonder no more
Standing in my garage, Android phone in hand (Samsung J7 with ver 1.5 of FordPass app installed & configured) select vehicle controls (enter PIN) then select Engine Start, the lights flash & horn chirps, and it starts ! Now turn off car (with app) raise hood, select engine start, lights flash (car lights) horn chirps, no engine start (as expected) - since I was in my garage & could see what was happening this was easy but if done remotely it would be different cause there isn’t much feedback from the app as to whats going on, hopefully there will be updates - the iPhone app may be different.

I like having the app especially when the dealer has it, because I can tell if they have it inside working on it or if its just sitting outside. I know you can lock and unlock the doors while the vehicle is moving. My wife was on her way home from work one night and I just happen to look at where the vehicle was. I hit the unlock button, and it said doors unlocked. It wasn't 1 minute later she called me to see if I was doing that or if the vehicle was messing up. Lol :yahoo:

Yeah when we first got ours I was doing that 300 miles away on my wife. Fortunately, it will not turn a car off while driving.
