Anybody done a retrofit on a Mariner? Even a Tribby?

Postby Midshift - July 19th, 2016, 4:16 pm

Just curious, as you can Google this and all it gives you is retrofitted Escapes..

I had a local company offer to do a retrofit on my '05 for the bargain bin price of $300 :hyst:

Not sure if I am missing it, but what are you retrofitting? Do you mean a front end nose swap?

I've seen a set of 08-12 mariner headlights retrofitted before but anything is possible. So why not, go for it!

In regards to 2nd gens, I have seen a Mariner with rear taillights and bumper from an Escape. Not something I would do as it kinda seems like a downgrade in my eyes (well the bumper at least).

Also think a Mariner front end swap on to an Escape then adding the Ford emblem to the Mariner grille would be a cool swap.

For my 2011 Escape, I have been keeping an eye out for the rear bumper and taillights from the Tribute. Not 100% on the taillights but I def. want the Tribute rear bumper, but man it is a hard find. I am starting to have some paint come off in some small spots and if I am going to have to get something painted would rather just hurry and find a Tribute bumper.

Tribute taillights are like hen's teeth. Good luck finding them.

I apologize folks, sometimes I simply shouldn't multitask..

I was referring to headlights. My apologies for the lack of info in my question. My bad ..

So I'm gonna go ahead and guess no..

I think it'd def. look neat but $300 for my headlights is a teeny bit steep right now

If it were me, I would go to the junkyard and get an Escape headlight just to test fit to see if it would work. If you get a light that is cracked or broken that someone would not normally want or buy to just use for testing purposes, they prob would give it to you heavily discounted or maybe even free. If it works you should be able to find some good headlights at the junkyard or eBay for less than $300

I got a damaged headlight to use to test some possible LED accent options and they sold me the headlight housing for $8
