Tire Advice

Postby Redneck Ginger16 - November 16th, 2016, 8:18 pm

Ive got an 04 Escape XLT 4x4 with 235/70r16 on it now but wanna look at putting some more meaty tires on it. Was looking at putting 235/75r15 with pro comp steelies. Will that work ? Or is there any more aggressive tires in stock size or will other sizes work that i can get a more aggressive look ?

Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks

:hi: :welcome: :hi:

I currently run 235/75/16 Firestone Destination A/Ts with no complaints. 235/75/15 or maybe even 245/70/15 should work. The 15" wheels should look nice I think that's what came on the XLS trim level so you should be good there. Also any tire shop should be able to test fit for you. Good luck!

How is your speedo running the tires you have ? Because ive installed pro comp steelies on escapes at the shop i work at but they were 16" so i might go with those as well but i wanna find a more aggressive tire like a mud tire to put on it but there isnt much selection in stock size so i was looking at 235/75r15 or other sizes that will work that offer a mud tire selection

My speedometer "may" be off just slightly but not a big enough change for me to care.

Tire Advice

I have Firestone Destination A/T as well. Mine are only 215/70 r16. They go well off road and are still good on the highway.
The tread looks chunky enough.
Although mine are a little skinny but that's what were on it.
I run 38psi on the road and 25psi off road.
