Spark plugs? Anyone here done them themselves?

Finally, a forum for E/M/T Hybrid owners? What a concept!

Spark plugs? Anyone here done them themselves?

Postby Jay2TheRescue - July 19th, 2015, 1:27 pm

I'm quickly coming up on 100,000 miles on my FEH, and was wondering if any other FEH owners have changed their own plugs. How hard was it? Did you need any special tools to make the job easier? Money is tight right now so if I can do it myself and not pay the dealer to do it, that will be a big savings.

I have not done them but I have a general suggestion. With the wires or cops removed blow out the area with air if you have it then soak them with "Free All" or the like. Let sit overnight if possible and respray and wait another 10 minutes before trying to remove them.

Sounds good. I ordered a bunch of stuff on RockAuto.com...

Plugs, plug boots, cabin air filter, battery pack air filter, and the seal where the driveshaft goes into the rear differential (I have a small leak there). Total came to $65.33. I'm sure the dealer would charge at least $400 to do all that work.
