struts and shocks

Postby gonefar - October 9th, 2016, 4:14 am

forgot to ask earlier when I was asking about another problem, anyway I replaced the front struts and shocks(think they are called quick struts?) and rear shocks about 6/7 months ago and the ride seems like it's again rough riding. now has 182000 miles. I bought the entire set-up from e-bay, don't really know the quality of the units but it is what it is. Any suggestions? Should I be looking to replace these units, and if so what brand? thanks again.

Rough riding like how? If your struts are bad, the car will just seem like it has a lot of sway up and down when going over large bumps. I wouldn't classify bad struts as rough riding, though.

If it is more of an abrupt jolt, is making rattling noise over bumps, or any other front-end noise for that matter, it is more likely your ball joints, wheel bearings, tie rods, or sway bar links..

More details will help diagnose.
