This is my personal opinion, but with all the chrome your adding the black bug shield looks out of place. I would swap that for a chrome one.

Thanks but (no offense) chrome bug guards are just tacky in my opinion.

I am not really "adding chrome" per se. I subtracted a big piece of chrome and then added a little back in. I like chrome in subtle amounts which is why I got rid the the factory chrome grille (which I thought was too much chrome) and added the more subtle chrome accents. Other than maybe something simple on the back, I am done adding chrome. The black bug shield matches my tinted windows nicely.

Thanks all. Next on the list:

1) Rear hitch (have the hitch, waiting on a mounting kit from a very generous Escape owner). Will get a bike rack and a small trailer down the road. May make some steps for my dog if I have wood left from #2
2) Home made cargo area sub-floor storage
3) Upgrade stereo (amp(s), door speakers small sub, possibly the factory sub).
4) Maybe some Tribute taillights if I come across a good deal
5) Maybe a rear spoiler (going back and forth on that)

Also, had the car in to have the hatch latch replaced and had a Lexus ES350 with a reverse camera as loaner (bought my Escape with an extend warranty at a Lexus dealership) . Have to say, I do like this feature so may be something I look into adding.

Trailer hitch. Got it super cheap and was basically brand new. Just had some nicks in it so I sanded those down, primered those spots then hit the whole thing with truck bed liner coating.

July 2015

Rear storage

Basically copied what another member did. I think his link is noted above somewhere. Took approx three 2x3s, a piece of plywood, some rubber feet so there is not rattling, L brackets to utilize the factory mounting points the plastic filler piece used, and a lock

Image

Used two 4-packs of these which help with rattling as well elevates the wood to make things flush

Image

Image

Lid is hinged in the back

Image

Was thinking of a way to secure the back end so it is not jumping around sa I drive down the road and decided to add a lock

Image

Image

Also shows the cargo cover I got back in April 2014

Image

Then has some wood left over and made a pet step for my dog. Just need to throw some carpet on it.
