Aren't the air filters good for like 30,000 - 40,000 miles? I know my GMC K1500 has a HUGE air filter, and this gauge that measures the air filter... after 90,000 miles I just replaced the filter, even though the gauge thingey still read that it was good.

Air filters depend 100% on what environment your in. When I was living in silicon valley, maybe every 50k. I moved to more of an agriculture type city, and they don't quite make 30k.

Yeah, don't trust those gauges. Iv never had one work for me. Its easier to just take it out and look. I change my air filter every 6 months, or sooner depending on conditions.

To me oil is oil as long as it has the API certification mark on it. I have had 28 cars and vans since 1986 and I have
never had an oil related repair to do.

I buy whatever is on sale, usually Pennzoil, Quaker State, Valvoline or the Canadian Tire house brand. 5w30/10w30.
Last month I was at Walmart and they had Bosch oil filters on for $2, so I bought the 3 they had for my 05.

As for interval, it's usually around 3 or 4 months, depending on how lazy I am, or if it's winter, I'll wait a bit longer for
warmer weather.

every 5,000 km using motorcraft 5w20 - i usually add a litre and a half between oil changes just too keep the oil between the two holes on the dipstick.
