2006 Escape XLT SPORT 4WD- Q's

Postby nckzizzo - December 14th, 2016, 9:55 am

Hey All! First time posting in a while since my '06 E has had a blown tranny and then a blown motor in a matter of 15 months :( Upon completing my engine replacement I want to add a few extras. I was considering adding a brush guard, roof basket, aggressive tires with fuel rims, and possible tire spacers. I was wondering if anyone here had put wheel spacers on or if they suggest going with some deep well offset rims?? Any help would be appreciated!!

P.S. I'm looking to completely replace my engine but soon after researching I found that there is 2 types of 3.0L V6 engine for my year. On "Car-part.com" it says that there is 2 variants (water pump driven by exhaust camshaft OR water pump driven by intake camshaft), It's says on both selection that the 8th digit should be a 1. How am I supposed to tell the difference?? I'm stumped and was wondering if anyone replaced this same engine before?

Look other places and find matching numbers for the engine. Somewhere they have to have only one listed.
The more aggressive (i'm assuming you're referring to off road aggressive) tires are always a nice touch. However, I wouldn't touch the sort of wheel spacers that slide over your lug nuts. If you did want to increase the wheel offset, I'd suggest buying new wheels with the offset you want.
